Have you noticed there’s always something new to figure out? Yeah, like this live video thing on Substack. I’m not trying it out just for curiosity, although that’s part of it. I want to see if it will be useful to you, the reader.
One thing that I just figured out: when I go live, it feeds the video to all my publications if I have “Everything” selected. But it only publishes the replay to my “primary” publication. To share it on other publications, I have to copy and paste. Manually. Heck, this thing is still new, so that may change. (They’re still working out how the thing gets started, as you’ll notice from the awkward first 15 seconds or so.)
Anyway. Nobody has time for more content. But what most people say is missing for them these days is connection. And, after all, the mantra around both King Chronicles and Confidence Cultivator (our other publication) is connection before content. It doesn't mean the content doesn't matter. It means that without the connection, the content won't matter.
A lot of cool people read here. It has been weeks since I posted anything other than podcast episodes, because I don’t want to just clog your email. But you folks could really benefit from each other, and I’d like to provide a connection point. So I’ll try some occasional live videos.
In this one, I’m giving an update about what’s cooking on the writing stove, hoping to enhance your life or someone you know. But as always, I’ll only share when I have something useful. The update? There’s another book in process, The Caregiving Author’s Survival Guide.
And that “real King” thing in the headline? Just a play on my last name. Read whatever else you want into it.
Help me help you. Comment and tell me what brought you here to begin with and the kind of people you would like to connect with. And thank you for being here!
Join me for my next live video in the app.
